I’M A SPECTATOR, WHERE CAN STOP TO WATCH THE RACE?
The course starts at 12th and Meridian and finishes at Monument Circle so anywhere along Meridian would be a great place to spectate.

Online registration will close on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 11:59 p.m.

MAY I GET A REFUND FOR MY ENTRY?
No, there are no refunds, transfers, or deferrals allowed for this event. All registrations are final.
WHEN AND WHERE CAN I PICK UP MY MILE RACE PACKET?
Thursday, June 6th from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on the northwest side of Monument Circle at Market St.
CAN SOMEONE ELSE PICK UP MY PACKET?
Yes. In order for someone to pick up your packet, they must present one of the following:
- Your confirmation email
- A signed note from you stating you are allowing them to pick up your packet OR
- A copy of your driver’s license
WHEN AND WHERE DO I PICK UP MY PACKET?
You can pick up your packet starting at 5:00 p.m. on the west side of Monument Circle on race day. There will only be race day packet pick up for this event.
IS THERE A GEAR CHECK?
Gear Check will be available race day starting at 5:00 p.m. Gear Check will be located next to packet pickup on the northwest side of Monument Circle. All gear must be picked up by 9:00p.m. There will be a gear check tag on your bib and you will be provided a clear plastic bag when you pick up your packet. YOU MUST USE THIS BAG AS YOUR GEAR CHECK BAG. All bags will be subject to search and any bag other than the clear plastic bag provided to you will be turned away. Unattended bags not within the Gear Check area will be removed by Security. Any gear left at the gear check tent will be donated to a local charity.
WILL THE RACE BE CERTIFIED?
The IMM course is certified by USATF (certification # IN17006TDK) and the race is sanctioned by USATF. As such, all USATF competition rules apply.
WHAT ITEMS MAY I PARTICIPATE WITH?
Participants WILL NOT be allowed to participate in the Monumental Mile with animals, bicycles, baby joggers or strollers, roller skates, or inline skates and must wear their bibs at all times. Strollers are however, welcome in the community mile.
ARE PEOPLE ALLOWED TO WEAR HEADSETS DURING THE RUN?
For safety purposes, we recommend that people do not wear headsets so they can hear important information along the course.
WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR RACE MANAGEMENT?
Don Carr of Tuxedo Brothers who has over 25 years of race management experience. Don is currently race director of the Indianapolis 500 Festival Mini-Marathon.
WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT?
5 years old in the Youth Wave, all ages in the Community Mile.

The elite standards for the Monumental Mile are:
M 800 = 1:56, 1500 = 4:00, 3,000 = 8:41, 3200 = 9:19, 5,000 = 15:04, 8K = 24:53, 10K 31:36, 1/2M 1:10
W 800 = 2:17, 1500 = 4:46, 3,000 = 10:25, 3200 = 11:10, 5,000 = 18:06, 8K = 29:58, 10K = 38:05, 1/2M = 1:24:54
A total of $2,000 will be awarded to athletes competing in the Elite races. 1st place: $500, 2nd place: $300, and 3rd place: $200.
COULD BAD WEATHER OR OTHER CONDITIONS CANCEL THE RACE?
Extreme weather (lightning, high winds, snow, ice, extreme temperature, etc) could cancel the race. There are also instances of other emergency situations (power outages, city-wide alerts, etc) that could affect the start/cancellation/continuance of the races. In case of delay or cancellation, immediate notification will be made through Beyond Monumental Facebook (Facebook.com/MonumentalMarathon) and Twitter (@IndyMonumental) and our website (beyondmonumental.org).
IF THE RACE IS CANCELLED, WILL REFUNDS OR TRANSFERS BE ALLOWED?
No, should the event be cancelled due to extreme weather or other emergency, there will be no refunds or transfers.
WHAT HAPPENS IF EXTREME WEATHER HAPPENS DURING THE EVENT?
If extreme weather or an emergency situation becomes an issue, the Command Group will meet and determine the status/future of the event. Depending on the situation the event may be delayed or cancelled. Information will be relayed to the Race committee via cell phones/radios. Participants will be notified along the course by course monitors and race officials. Participants will be required to use their best judgment, based on the situation, as to the next best course of action.
WHAT ARE THE AWARDS FOR EACH DIVISION?
Open Mile – male and female, first place 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39
Masters Mile – male and female, first place 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 and over
Youth & High School (19 & Under) – male and female, first place 5-9, 10-14, 15-17, 18-19
I WON AN AWARD, HOW WILL I RECEIVE IT?
The awards ceremonies for the overall winners of each race will be at 8:00 p.m. at the foot of the Monument, just past the finish line. Age group awards will be available for pickup at Gear Check starting at 8:00 p.m. If you can’t make it to the awards ceremony or pickup, they will be available at the Beyond Monumental, Inc. office, 202 E. Market St. in the Platform Building attached to the west side of City Market. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. until June 30, 2018. Please note, you must run in your respective race to be eligible for an age group award. For example, Masters runners who compete in the Open Race will not be eligible for the Masters awards.
