HOW MUCH IS REGISTRATION FOR THE 2022 INDIANAPOLIS MONUMENTAL MILE?

WHAT ARE THE 2022 INDIANAPOLIS MONUMENTAL MILE RACE OPTIONS?

THE MONUMENTAL MILE INCLUDES RACES FOR EVERYONE!

Age Group Miles: Registered participants will be assigned to a competitive race based on age (Youth & High School, Open, and Masters) and are eligible for age group awards.
Doggie Dash: Competitive race to benefit Indianapolis Animal Care Services.
Community Mile: Non-competitive Mile for people of all ages and fitness levels. Strollers, baby joggers, and wagons are welcome! 

CAN I RUN IN MY AGE GROUP MILE AND THE COMMUNITY MILE? 

Yes, you can add on registration for the Community Mile for no additional fee when you sign up for an Age Group Mile. Your race bib will be the same for the Age Group and Community Miles.

You can also sign up for the Doggie Dash for a $10 add-on registration fee when you sign up for an Age Group Mile. Beyond Monumental will donate $5 to the Friends of Indianapolis Animal Care Services Foundation. You must have a Doggie Dash race bib to participate.

CAN I RUN IN MY AGE GROUP MILE OR THE COMMUNITY MILE AND THE DOGGIE DASH? 

Yes, You can sign up for the Doggie Dash for a $10 add-on registration fee when you sign up for an Age Group Mile or the Community Mile. Beyond Monumental will donate $5 to the Friends of Indianapolis Animal Care Services Foundation. You must have a Doggie Dash race bib to participate.

IS THE INDIANAPOLIS MONUMENTAL MILE PART OF INDYTHON?

Yes! INDYTHON Premier is the ultimate INDYTHON challenge! Complete the Indianapolis Monumental Mile, the Indy Half Marathon at Fort Ben, and the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon to earn INDYTHON Premier awards.

ADDITIONAL INDYTHON CATEGORIES

INDYTHON: Complete races at the Indy Half Marathon at Fort Ben and the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon with a cumulative distance less than or equal to 26.2 miles to qualify for INDYTHON awards. 

INDYTHON Ultra: Complete races at the Indy Half Marathon at Fort Ben and the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon with a cumulative distance greater than 26.2 miles to qualify for INDYTHON Ultra awards.

HOW DO I REGISTER AND CAN I REGISTER OTHER PEOPLE?

You can REGISTER ONLINE for the 2022 Indianapolis Monumental Mile starting on March 1, 2022.

You can register other participants as part of your registration by selecting “I want to add another registration”.

WILL I BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE VIRTUALLY?

We are excited to get back to in-person racing and will not have a standalone virtual race this year. 

INTERESTED IN VIRTUAL OPTIONS FOR 2022?

Register for Marathon in a Month to complete 26.2 miles – in increments – during the month of November.

HOW CAN I STAY INFORMED ABOUT THE EVENT AND MY RACE?

We encourage you to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter and check your email regularly for updates leading up to the Indianapolis Monumental Mile.

IS THERE AN APP FOR THE RACE?

Yes, we will have an app for the race. We will provide details in pre-event participant emails and you can check back for more details in May.

WHAT TIME ZONE DOES INDIANAPOLIS USE?

Eastern Time Zone – Indianapolis uses Eastern Standard Time (EST) during the winter months and Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) in the summer months when Daylight Saving Time is in force.

WILL YOU BE REQUIRING VACCINATIONS, TEMP CHECKS, OR HEALTH SCREENINGS?

At this time, participants will not be required to submit proof of vaccination nor will they be required to submit proof of a negative COVID-19 test. Prior to and on race day, we ask that any participants or spectators experiencing a cough, fever, shortness of breath, or any other symptoms of illness stay or go home for the safety of themselves and others in the community. We encourage anyone who is eligible to get vaccinated.

WHY DO I NEED TO LOG IN TO AN ACCOUNT OR CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT WHEN I REGISTER FOR A BEYOND MONUMENTAL EVENT?

Beyond Monumental is pleased to partner with haku to manage registration for our events. You can use the same login and password to create accounts with multiple race organizers and access all of your available registrations in one place. Beyond Monumental only has access to information that is associated with our events.

If you registered for a 2020 or 2021 Beyond Monumental race in haku you can use your existing login and password.

If you haven’t registered for a Beyond Monumental race in haku you will need to create a Beyond Monumental participant account when you register.

HOW CAN I GET CONFIRMATION OF MY REGISTRATION?

You will receive an email confirmation after you complete your registration. You can also log in to your Beyond Monumental participant account to access your registration confirmation(s).

WHAT IF I ENTERED THE WRONG INFORMATION WHEN I REGISTERED OR I WOULD LIKE TO CHANGE SOMETHING ON MY REGISTRATION?

Log in to your Beyond Monumental participant account to update your information. Email our team at info@beyondmonumental.org with questions or if you need help.

MAY I GET A REFUND AFTER I REGISTER?

No, there are no refunds, transfers, or deferrals allowed for this event. All registrations are final.

WHEN AND WHERE CAN I PICK UP MY INDIANAPOLIS MONUMENTAL MILE RACE PACKET?

Race packets will be available for pick up on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on the northwest side of Monument Circle at Market Street.

CAN SOMEONE ELSE PICK UP MY PACKET?

Yes. They must present your confirmation email or a copy of your government-issued photo ID. Digital or printed copies of the email and government-issued photo ID are acceptable for Packet Pickup.

WILL THE RACE BE CERTIFIED?

The updated Indianapolis Monumental Mile course is pending certification.

USATF sanctions the race and all USATF COMPETITION RULES apply.

WHAT ITEMS ARE REQUIRED AND WHAT ITEMS ARE ALLOWED ON THE COURSE?

You must wear your assigned race bib at all times. 

Strollers, baby joggers, and wagons are allowed in the Community Mile.

– Children age 5 and older must be registered and have a race bib to participate.
– Children under 5 years old do not need a race bib and will not receive a finish time; each child under 5 years old must be accompanied by a registered participant. 

Doggie Dash participants must run/walk with a dog and the dog must also run/walk. Your dog must be on a leash at all times; the leash should be no longer than six feet (6’) long. Please use good judgment and participate with a dog that is comfortable in large crowds and in urban areas. Please be courteous and clean up after your dog.

WHAT ITEMS ARE NOT ALLOWED AND/OR NOT RECOMMENDED ON THE COURSE?

You are not allowed to participate in any race with bicycles, roller skates, inline skates, or any other similar wheeled devices. 

You are not allowed to participate in the Age Group Miles (youth, open, masters, and Elite) or Doggie Dash with wagons, baby joggers, and strollers.

Dogs are allowed in the Doggie Dash only. No other animals are allowed on the course.

We recommend you do not wear a headset so you can hear important information along the course.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT?

Participants must be 5 years of age or older on race day. Children age 5 and older must be registered and have a race bib to participate.

All ages are encouraged to participate in the Community Mile. Children under 5 years old do not need a race bib and will not receive a finish time; each child under 5 years old must be accompanied by a registered participant. 

COULD BAD WEATHER OR OTHER CONDITIONS CANCEL THE RACE?

Extreme weather (such as lightning, high winds, snow, ice, extreme temperature, etc.) could cause the event to be canceled. There are also instances of other emergency situations (such as power outages, city-wide alerts, etc.) that could affect the start, continuance, and/or completion of the event or select races. We will provide updates about event/race delay(s) or cancellation(s) as quickly as possible through Facebook, Twitter, and our website.

IF THE RACE IS CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER OR OTHER CONDITIONS WILL REFUNDS OR TRANSFERS BE ALLOWED

There will be no refunds or transfers should the event be canceled due to extreme weather or other emergencies. For additional cancellation information, please review our COVID-19 cancellation policy.

WHAT HAPPENS IF EXTREME WEATHER HAPPENS DURING THE EVENT?

The Command Group will meet and determine the status/future of the event if extreme weather or an emergency situation becomes an issue. Depending on the situation the event may be delayed or canceled. Information will be relayed to the race committee via cell phones/radios. Participants will be notified along the course by course marshals and race officials. Participants will be required to use their best judgment, based on the situation, as to the next best course of action.

WHAT IF THE EVENT IS CANCELLED DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC?

Beyond Monumental will continue to implement recommended health & safety precautions to safely host in-person races. 

If the 2022 Indianapolis Monumental Mile is canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic: 

 – On or before April 30, 2022: We will convert your registration to a virtual event and mail your race packet to the address provided during registration.
 – May 1, 2022, or later: Your registration fee will be donated to support the Apex Benefits Monumental Kids Movement.

WHO WILL RECEIVE AGE GROUP AWARDS?

Open Mile – First place male, female, and non-binary finishers by chip time. 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39

Masters Mile – First place male, female, and non-binary finishers by chip time. 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 and over

Youth & High School (19 & Under) – First place male, female, and non-binary finishers by chip time. 5-9, 10-14, 15-17, 18-19

Doggie Dash – First place male, female, and non-binary finishers by chip time.

Elite Athletes are not eligible for Age Group Awards.

WHEN AND WHERE WILL AGE GROUP AWARDS BE DISTRIBUTED?

Age Group Awards will be presented onsite at the Indianapolis Monumental Mile. Be sure to hang out and enjoy the Celebration on the Circle to see if you receive an Age Group Award! 

You must pick up your Age Group Award on Race Day.

WHAT DOES MY PARTICIPATION IN THIS EVENT SUPPORT?

Beyond Monumental is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Proceeds from Beyond Monumental events support the Apex Benefits Monumental Kids Movement, a seven-to-nine-week youth running program that culminates with students running a 5K. The bi-weekly program focuses on engaging and educating youth about the benefits of physical fitness and healthy living. You can find more information about our beneficiaries here!

I’M A SPECTATOR. WHERE CAN I WATCH THE RACES?

The course starts on Pennsylvania Avenue between Michigan and Vermont Streets. You can see the start and the participants on their way down Meridian Street if you position yourself in that area. 

The Finish Line is on Meridian Street just south of Ohio Street.
